Sonya alerted us to this theatre event a few months ago - Wesley Enoch's project 20 Questions, at the Belvoir Street Theatre. Now Awaye on RN has broadcast the session with fantastic Indigenous actor/performer Trevor Jamieson. This really works. It should be made into a radio series.

The series at Belvoir is running for a few more weeks on Monday nights, but when I checked out the website of course the tickets are outrageously expensive, like all Sydney theatre. Sonya said she was going to check out 20 Questions live at the theatre - did you end up going?

I do indeed have tickets, and am booked in for the closing night, August 11, which I hope might happen to feature an extra special guest. It totally helps that one of us can get the student rate for a ticket. I'm going to be wait to listen to this one, because I'd love for the night to unfold as a bit of a surprise. The format seems so clever and yet intimate, and it's great that they're putting them on the radio too.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to be taking my cousin along as well, his mum was very much a sponsor of my experience of the arts - she took us to our very first play, and as I got older would often buy me a couple of double passes to the Sydney Film Festival so I could pick a film and invite a friend to see it with. And that stuff makes a huge difference when you're at school or uni. Very sadly, she passed away last year and I am trying to find ways to show her son what she was able to show me through her generous and sometimes bold gifts.
